Re: Accrual Methods

Accrual is a method of accounting for expenditures (costs) or income for particular activities or events. In RiskyProject this accrual is at the activity level and can occur at the beginning of an activity, the end or be prorated based on the % of the activity complete. The accrual method that you s...

Re: Number of Projects in RiskyProject Enterprise

A lot, the hard limit as defined in the software is 20,000. However, you would probably reach a “soft” limit much sooner due to limitations in network bandwidth, database performance, and desktop resources required to render such a massive portfolio.

You can only use a single currency for any single project. You can change currencies for different projects.
You can set the currency used for the project in the Project Options > Cost tab.

Re: Unique Computer ID

No the Computer ID that you see in the About RiskyProject dialog box is not a MAC address. It is a unique value that is regenerated every time the software is launched. It is solely for the use of the RiskyProject licensing system to activate the license when the computer cannot directly communicate...

Re: Project Risk Score Calculation

The “risk” score for the project is a score calculated for either cost or schedule. There are several settings that can be used to calculate the score, however; fundamentally it is calculated: Risk Score=Results of simulation/original estimate: If the score is < 1 then overall score indicates an opp...

Re: Split Tasks

When you import a split task into RiskyProject from MS Project, the task itself will not be split, but the Start and Finish times will. This means that during the Monte Carlo simulation the finish and start times will be used to model how uncertainties will affect the project; however, if you are us...

Re: EVM indicators in RiskyProject

No, RiskyProject does not perform EVM calculations though we do show variances between actual and budgeted costs base in the Cost View. http://www.intaver.com/images/RP_Forum_EVM.png We have shown a very simple way to perform project performance measurement with risk and uncertainties. Many organiza...

Re: Copy risks between projects

Yes and the method that you use depends on how you want to copy the risks. If you have a project schedule with risks assigned to tasks, you can copy the risks and their assignments by using the Import > Risks from Another Project. This will import the risks as well as the risk assignments (based on ...

Re: Risk score calculation

Risk probabilities, impacts, and scores are calculated the following way: RiskyProject tracks the impact of each risk on each project parameter (category) at each iteration of the Monte Carlo simulation. It is performed using absolute units. For example, in the first iteration Risk A caused a delay ...

Re: Maximum Project Duration

Maximum project duration is set in the Project Settings dialog box. The maximum duration can be set using days, months, or years. This setting creates a project deadline that is used during Monte Carlo simulations to measure the project success rate of meeting this deadline. Success rates can be vie...
