When I try to open or save ALM file extra icon appears at the bottom of the screen and the separate process starts. Is it correct?

Yes. Everything is correct. RiskyProject uses separate process to open and close any files, not only ALM. Additional icon will be shown within Windows status bar. Also when you use task manager, you would see extra process called RiskyProjectOpen. It is not a new instance of RiskyProject. For example you would see it when you try to select a file name for export charts to graphic files.
