I just imported project schedule from MS Project to RiskyProject. The schedule in MS Project and RiskyProject are different. I use only one standard calendar. Some tasks and fully or partially completed.

if you have fully completed tasks, baseline project schedule in RiskyProject and MS Project may be different. In other words baseline finish time and duration of the project, shown at Project Summary View (No Risk row) if project has completed tasks may be different in RiskyProject and MS Project. However, if you perform calculation, even you did not enter any risks and uncertainties, the results in RiskyProject will be exactly the same as MS Project schedule. Therefore before entering risks and uncertainties just click on calculation and compare results (not baseline) in RiskyProject with MS Project. In this case just ignore baseline schedule in RiskyProject and always use results. The schedule with completed tasks is an exception. In all other cases you should be able to see exactly the same project schedule in RiskyProject and MS Project without recalculation.

Why do you require calculation of schedule if Ms Project schedule has completed tasks?

It is because in RiskyProject baseline (original) project schedule in RiskyProject supposes to be created when project did not start yet. This schedule does not have any completed tasks. We would like to preserve this original schedule to be able to compare it with tracking data.

I opened very many MS Project schedules (MPP file) in RiskyProject and did not have any problems. But recently I tried to open the schedule and got a message 'Invalid file format' or something like this. Then I tried to export MS Project schedule in XML format, and did not have problems. What is wrong with MPP file?

MPP is proprietaries file by Microsoft. We are using third party component to read data from MPP file. Sometimes Microsoft make changes to MPP file specification for the specific data. Most likely it happened in your case. So far with RiskyProject 2.x we had only two issues related to reading data from MPP file. One is related to a negative lag, and another is related to certain very specific settings in the calendars. In both cases we found a work around and implemented it in RiskyProject 3. If you have problem with MPP file import, we recommend using XML file instead.

I have a project schedule in MS Project with different resource calendars. Does your tool supports different resource calendars? I would like to import Microsoft Project data to the RiskyProject.

RiskyProject 2.1 did not support different resource calendar. However RiskyProject 3.1 was data model very similar to Microsoft Project. It has task calendar, resource calendar, and project calendar.

You can download new version RiskyProject 3.1 from http://www.intaver.com/index-downloads.html
