Negative cost and rate

Post by BradTon » Sat Sep 19, 2009 9:17 pm

Microsoft Project allows me to enter negative fixed cost and negative rate for resources. How can I use negative costs in RiskyProject?

You cannot enter negative fixed cost and rate for resource in RiskyProject directly. RiskyProject has special fields for income. If you enter income, cost will be show as negative and income will be shows positive on cash flow charts.

If you use Microsoft Project schedule in RiskyProject negative rates and fixed costs will be imported to RiskyProject. Therefore both Microsoft Project and RiskyProject cash flows will be identical.

Just noticed that you say that you cannot enter negative costs in RiskyProject, but it can read them from MS Project. Where does the negative costs shown in RiskyProject if they are imported from Project?

Negative costs are rendered as income in RiskyProject and can be viewed in the activities income column in the Costs view.
