As long as you know the colors that you want to use for your risk matrix, you can modify the risk matrix colors very quickly
On the Ribbon, go to Risks > Format Risk Matrix. The Format Risk Matrix dialog opens.

We recommend that you set up your color palette first. You can defined your custom palette in the Custom colors. To add a color, double-click on any cell in the Risk Matrix. The Color dialog box opens. Now, click on an empty Custom Color box and either select a color from the Basic colors or define them using the color options on the bottom right of the dialog box.

Once you have defined the colors, click the Add to Custom Colors button. The color will appear in the selected box. In the example below, we have created a 3 color palette.

Now to apply the color to the cell, select the color and click OK.

Repeat for all cells in the matrix.

The Risk Matrix Reports are the Risk Matrix, Risk History, Risk Trends, and Risk Monitor. All are providing slightly different information on both historical and current assessment of your project risks. The Risk Matrix report allows you to show the original and post mitigated assessments for each risk. This provides an easy to follow summary of changes to risks due to planned mitigation activities.

The Risk Monitor report shows the current number of risks in each cell of the Risk Matrix. This is useful to show the number of risks at their current assessment. Current assessment is the actual risk score at this time and can reflect intermediate scores of risks as they move from original to post-mitigation.

The Risk History report shows all of the changes to each risk’s score overtime as lines. It is similar to how the Risk Matrix shows arrows that show how the risk score is planned to move from original to post-mitigation scores. However, it shows using arrows how each risk score has changed over the project. The view is probably best used to visualize how a single risk assessment has changed as it can become very busy and hard to interpret if you have multiple risks presented.

The Risk Trends report shows how the number of risk in each severity category have changed over time. Risk Trends can be presented as either bar charts or area charts.

The Total Risks report is a table view of the Risk Trends data.
