Incorrect username or password error message logging onto database

Post by Ken »

We are having an issue with user authentication in RiskyProject Enterprise. Some users when having not logged onto the system for a couple of months the get an error message “Incorrect username or password”. In addition, we have users who can logon without having to enter their username and password. Is there a way to fix this?

The problem most likely is being caused with the authentication method that was selected when initially setting up the user management and authentication method. Both of the issues have the same root cause. The ability for users not defined in the RiskyProject user management to login indicates that they are using the Windows authentication method. This mode allows user to launch RiskyProject without username and password as it uses reads the permission from the current Windows users account.. In addition, every time the software is launched with this authentication method, it reads in the most updated version of the Windows directory. and updates the user tables. The assumption is that this overwrites any users that have been manually added.
To reset the authentication method :
1. On the File menu, click User Management. You must have Administrative permissions.
2. Click the License and Security tab.
3. Under the RiskyProject Enterprise Authentication, select authentication option.
