Can I apply uncertainty (Low, Most Likely, High values) to a group of tasks, and how does it work with summary tasks?

Yes. You can apply uncertainty to:
  • Individual activities
  • Groups of activities
If applied to a summary task, the uncertainty will automatically apply to all subtasks beneath it.

Best Practices
  • Use summary tasks for bulk adjustments when tasks share similar uncertainty characteristics.
  • Avoid applying uncertainty at both summary and subtask levels simultaneously—this can create confusion.
  • Group tasks logically (e.g., by phase or deliverable) before applying uncertainty.
  • Validate that grouped tasks truly share similar risk profiles.
