Re: Importing Risks from Excel

Here is another important note. Some our clients ask us if Excel spreadsheet needs to be formatted any specific way to be imported to RiskyProject. The only requirement is Risk Register spreadsheet will need to have each risk as a row and risk properties, including risk names, probability and impact...

Re: Compatibility and sharing files between versions causing issues

RiskyProject versions are always backwards compatible, but they are not forwards compatible. In practical terms what does this mean. You can open files from older versions, in newer versions (backwards compatibility); however, because the new versions are not just an update, but are new software wit...

Re: actual costs

If you are not using resources as part of your cost calculations then it is straight forward. As activities are completed, you can update cost either in your management schedule or in RiskyProject in the Income and Cost view. On the other hand, if you are using a resource loaded schedule to calculat...

Re: Pert Analysis Toolbar

Microsoft Project implements one the Quantitative Risk Analysis technique PERT (Program Evaluation and Review Technique). The PERT model was developed in 1950s to address uncertainty in the estimation of project parameters. According to classic PERT, expected task duration is calculated as the weigh...

Re: Scatter Plot Percentile Setting

The Cost vs Duration Scatter Plot uses a slider to set the P-value for schedule (Cost or Finish Times) and the resulting chance of meeting Cost and Schedule at the selected percentile.

Re: Weekly Exception Calendars

We don't have working weeks exceptions in our calendars in RiskyProject. This would significantly slow Monte Carlo simulations. So all working weeks are the same. We can do exceptions based on individual days and day of week. It is probably possible to use individual day exception and replicate it f...

Re: Percent % Complete vs % Work Complete

While % Work Complete is useful for managing project progress, it is not recommended for schedule risk analysis as this setting will add additional complications to the creation of a valid risk model. The main objective of schedule risk analysis is to forecast probabilities for finish times and dura...

Re: Recommended Practices for integrating resources and schedule risk analysis

While resource loaded schedules and schedule risk analysis are not incompatible, how you approach a risk analysis depends upon your objectives as resource loading can introduce additional complications. Depending upon your objectives this could mean creating a specific schedule for your risk analysi...

Re: Linking Google Docs to Risks

In RiskyProject Enterprise you can attach or link documents to specific risks in the Risk Information > Documents tab. Documents that can be linked to a risk include Google docs. There are 2 methods that you can use to link your Google docs to a risk: directly link to an online document or, creating...

I am assuming you are referring to the Meters on the Project Summary (or Project Information in the Addin). The calculation used is can be seen by clicking the ? on the bottom right corner of the meters. https://www.intaver.com/images/RP_Forum_ScoreMeter.png The raw cost data can be copied from the ...

Re: Schedule Reports that show Uncertainty Bands.

Short answer is no. I was thinking that they could be flagged in a text column and filtered but our Text columns do not support filtering. Workaround might be to use a Text Column to flag activities that use Risk Bands > Export the Schedule the Excel and apply the filter to the target column (Risk B...

Re: Importing Costs from Excel

Currently, we don't this capability implemented directly. We do integrate with Excel, but where you can import data is limited to: - import risk register with their properties - import probabilities and impact of risks. Excel import is expandable in that we can link to additional fields, we would re...

Re: Analyzing mega schedules

In depends on schedule, particularly on number of repeated activities. We tried this algorithm on very many real life schedules. If schedule is relatively small, for example, less than 1000-1500 activities, in our experience reduction will be 5-10%. Some large schedule contain many repeated activiti...

Re: Calculating the Cost of Residual Risk

If you have assigned a cost to a mitigation plan and assigned it to a risk this is used only for the post-mitigation calculation and does not affect the simulation results. For example, we create a response plan in the Mitigation/Response view with a Cost of $25000. http://www.intaver.com/images/RP_...

Re: Configuring Risk Matrix for Quantitative Risk Analysis

The reason for this for qualitative risk analysis standard 5 x 5 risk matrix works well as you are only "placing" the risk onto the matrix using a simple probability x impact with subjective scores (1,2,3,4,5) or labels (very low, low,.. etc), From this you get a simple score e.g 3*5= 15 and the ris...
