RiskyProject Tutorial

RiskyProject Software Overview

Qualitative Risk Analysis and Risk Management

Risk Form

The Risk Form is where you add or modify key risk data that can include probabilities and impacts, descriptions, cause, owner and other required data. This video will demonstrate how to customize and enter data into the Risk Form.

Risk Categories, Properties, Risk Matrix Settings

RiskyProject’s risk management system is based on three customizable component: Risk Categories, Risk Properties, and the Risk Matrixes. This video will demonstrate how the customize these three components.

Mitigation and Response Planning

Risk planning is a key aspect of project risk management and can involve the development of risk mitigation and response plans. This video will demonstrate how to create and mitigation and response plans and assign them to risks.

Risk Reporting

RiskyProject includes a variety of risk reports including risk register, risk matrix, and risk trends. This video will demonstrate how to customize and generate risk reports.

Risk Dashboard

The Risk Dashboard is a customizable report that allows you to add, delete, or modify a number of risk properties, KPIs, and other data in various formats including tables, charts and graphs. This video will demonstrate how to customize the Risk Dashboard to meet your reporting requirements.

Project Scheduling

Creating Project Schedule

You can create project schedules in RiskyProject or import it from other project management software. This video will demonstrate how to create schedules with links and levels.

Project Costs

In this video, we will show you how you can add fixed costs, resource costs based on material rates, and cost type. These costs will be used for risk analysis.

Resources

Resources are used to generate work and costs during Monte Carlo simulations. This video will demonstrate to create resources, assign them to tasks and how to view resource allocation.

Calendars

Calendars are an important aspect of all scheduling algorithms as they define calendar days and hours when work can be performed during a project. This video will show how calendars are implemented in RiskyProject including weather and probabilistic calendars.

Schedule Diagnostics

Running a valid schedule risk analysis requires a high quality schedule. This video will demonstrate how to use the integrated 14pt schedule inspection tool to ensure schedule quality.

Quantitative Risk Analysis

Microsoft Project Integration

RiskyProject seamlessly integrates with Microsoft Project. Once you have RiskyProject installed, the RiskyProject Addin tab will automatically appear the Microsoft Project ribbon. This toolbar facilitates defining risks and uncertainties, Monte Carlo simulations, viewing results of analysis, and reporting in Microsoft Project.

Assigning Risks To Tasks

Assigning risks to your project is a key step in the risk analysis process. This video will show how to assign project risks with probabilities and impacts from the risk register to activities and/or resources.

Task Uncertainties

Uncertainties are a major source of risk in projects. This video will demonstrate how to define statistical distributions for task duration, cost, and start and finish times.

Uncertainty bands

Uncertainty bands provide an easy and consistent method to apply levels of uncertainty to your schedule. Uncertainty Bands use pre-set coefficients to generate of uncertainties for Low, Most Likely, and High Duration and/or Costs.

Monte Carlo Simulation Parameters

Setting up the parameters for a Monte Carlo simulation is an important step in project risk analysis. This video will demonstrate how you can customize the calculation options and execute Monte Carlo Simulations.

Risk Adjusted Project Schedule

Results of Monte Carlo simulations are presented in the risk adjusted project schedule using Result Gantt View. One set of bars represent the original project schedule. Another set of bars represent the risk adjusted project schedule, where start and finish times are calculated based on schedule risk analysis.

Sensitivity analysis

Sensitivity analysis allows you to identify the tasks and risks which are the main sources of project variance. Sensitivity analysis is an important output of Monte Carlo risk analysis and is key to understanding how to focus efforts to optimize project execution.

Risk Chart and Success Rate Views

The Risk Chart view helps to identify activities that have higher risk compared to other activities. The Success Rate view presents chance of success of each project activity on the Gantt Chart.

Project Control With Risks

Running risk analysis during project execution is an important step of project risk management process and part of project control. This video will demonstrate how project control is performed in RiskyProject.

RiskyProject Reporting

RiskyProject comes with a variety of customizable and ad hoc reports. This video will demonstrate how to generate reports of your Monte Carlo risk analysis.

Probabilistic and Conditional Branching

Probabilistic branching allows you to calculate expected values for the project in cases where the chance that different project activities will executed is probabilistic. Conditional branching is useful when you need to determine expected values of the project when specific conditions are met.

RiskyProject Enterprise

RiskyProject Enterprise Overview

RiskyProject Enterprise is a project portfolio risk analysis and management system. This video will provide a high level overview of main features of RiskyProject Enterprise.

Managing Project Portfolio

The foundation of RiskyProject Enterprise is the Project Portfolio that organizes your projects into related projects and programs in hierarchical structure. This video will demonstrate how to create your project portfolio.

Risk Register Module

The Risk Register module is a desktop client that can be used with RiskyProject Enterprise for qualitative risk management and reporting. This video will provide an overview of Risk Register module.

Using Risk Register

This tutorial will cover the basic steps to how to add risks including adding probabilities, impacts, and properties in RiskyProject Enterprise.

User Management

User Management is comprised of user roles, project permissions which can be based on an Organization Breakdown Structure or OBS as well as configuring notifications and licensing. This video will provide an overview of how user management is setup in RiskyProject Enterprise.

Incidents

RiskyProject allows to manage incidents, which are events that can be associated with risks. Incidents in RiskyProject have their own Incident Register, classification, properties, and reporting. Incidents can be presented on Incident Trend Chart.
